• Monitor, analyze, and influence national and EU policy developments to secure a stable and competitive business environment.
• Develop and execute Covestro’s global energy and climate policy strategy, ensuring alignment across markets.
• Advise the Board of Management on political and policy concerns and support the CEO’s engagement with the VCI Board and Präsidium.
• Build and strengthen relationships with policymakers, industry leaders, and regulatory bodies.
• Represent Covestro in industry associations, ensuring high-level executive positioning.
• Lead and develop the Berlin-based Public Affairs team, while managing external consultants and partners.
• Oversee budget management, compliance, and strategic industry association memberships.

• University degree in science, engineering, political science, public administration, business or law.
• 10+ years of experience in government relations, with expertise in chemical, energy, or materials science policy.
• Deep understanding of the German and EU legislative landscape and regulatory decision-making.
• Established network within government, industry, and policy circles.
• Strong analytical skills to assess business impact and mitigate policy risks.
• Proven leadership experience in managing teams and external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and advocacy skills to represent Covestro’s interests effectively.
• Fluent in German (native level) and English with the highest standards of integrity and governance.

In addition to our diverse benefits, you can expect an attractive starting salary between €128,400.00/year and €160,500.00/year plus a variable component for a full-time position. The starting salary is based on your qualifications and professional experience.
