We are an international, collaborative network of communications professionals in the fields of climate, energy and nature. This is an exciting opportunity for a German-speaking digital communications specialist with the ambition to make a difference and play an active role in helping speed up the energy transition and building understanding for the systemic changes necessary to avoid the worst impacts of global climate change.

How you'll contribute

  • Monitor digital disinformation attempts and devise counter strategies with network members and partners;
  • With guidance of the team lead, maintain and build relationships with partners and other digital campaigners in the climate field and related areas. Spot opportunities for collaboration and develop smaller project ideas;
  • Act as a resource for partners on best practices in digital communications, providing advice and hands-on support to amplify key projects and/or media moments;
  • Report on the impact of digital campaigns in a way that’s actionable and understandable for non-digital members of the team;
  • Work closely with the GSCC’s Europe Digital Hub, global digital staff and members of the European strategic communications team.

Our ideal candidate has

  • Proven experience in the field of digital communications and the use of digital tools for strategic communications, advertising and/or campaigning;
  • In-depth knowledge of major social media platforms (such as Meta, YouTube, X, LinkedIn) and digital tools to target, reach and engage different audiences;
  • Fluency of written and spoken German and a very good level of written and spoken English, our working language;
  • Audience-centred writing skills, basic graphic design skills (Canva or similar platforms), photo and video editing skills desirable;
  • Experience with data-driven digital marketing and social media monitoring tools desirable (Talkwalker, Brandwatch and/or Meltwater);
  • Knowledge of and a genuine interest in the German political and climate debate, as well a Germany’s role in European politics and the wider world;
  • Hands-on project management experience;
  • The disposition to work generously with colleagues in a high-trust global community of peers, both in a team and independently;
  • The versatile and adaptable skills necessary to flourish in a fast-paced and wide-ranging work environment and work across time zones using tools such as Zoom, Slack and email (Google Workspace), as well as digital collaboration platforms.
