All about the role

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Public Affairs Manager to join our team in Berlin. As part of our team, you’ll work closely with the global and local management teams, ensuring our public affairs strategies are planned to perfection.

Your mission

• Lead and manage our public policy, governmental, and regulatory affairs activities in Germany and Austria to support our business objectives, reporting to Lieferando’s General Manager in Germany.
• Track and advise on relevant public affairs issues, regulatory or legislative matters affecting both markets. Act as a sounding board and advisor to our management teams in logistics, marketplace business, and product.
• Develop and manage PA positions, strategies, narratives, and action plans in close alignment with our global public affairs department and strategy.
• Work closely alongside our corporate communications team, as well as cross-functionally with other teams from our logistics and marketplace entities, especially legal, labor relations, operations, key account management, and CSR.
• Create materials like position papers, narratives, and messages, policy recommendations, amendments, bill proposals.
• Advocate for Lieferando as a leader in the food delivery industry. Mitigate potential misunderstandings, obstacles. Convey how Lieferando enables tens of thousands of restaurant partners digitizing their businesses to thrive/flourish with the growing demand of food orders, empowering local economies.
• Educate PA stakeholders on our logistics entity as a responsible employer,  setting the bar in fair and secure working conditions in the platform economy.
• Establish and strengthen a reliable network of strategic relationships with government and city leaders, authorities, regulators, and third sector stakeholders on national and state levels. Partner with organizations think tanks, and educational institutions, or similar groups to align our mission for equal market and employment conditions within the industry.
• Represent Lieferando in key events and industry associations or prepare briefings for our ​​leadership and board members. 
• Handle an agency, other suppliers, and external partners.

Ihr Profil

Can you deliver...

• You like building things, shaping the European market leader’s public affairs activities in Germany and Austria.
• 6+ years experience in public/governmental affairs, with a proven/solid track record, and in-house at a high-profile tech or food company, in government, authorities, other political institutions, or related environments in consultancy, at NGOs, or think tanks.
• Passion for digital marketplaces and services delivering value to a large and rapidly growing part of the population. 
• You are accustomed to/experienced in policy issues affecting digital logistic services (employment, co-determination, work safety, and privacy) as well as digital marketplaces (competition, commissions, and sustainability like alternatives to plastic and reusable packaging). 
• You are a self-starter able to prioritize tasks and issues with analytical thinking, excellent problem-solving skills, and a hands-on mentality.
• You enjoy deep-diving into emerging topics, political trends, upcoming regulations, and challenges.
• Being a team player, eager to thrive and learn in a dynamic environment, you are skilled in working collaboratively with other teams and executives to ensure alignment between business objectives and goals addressing the requirements/needs/demands of the general public and external key stakeholder groups
• Your existing network includes relevant contacts. 
• Ideally a background in political science, public policy, law, or political communications.    
• Native or fluent in German and English.
