Senior Manager Governmental Relations (m/w/d) at Brussel
Your tasks:
- Representing WACKER’s interests at the political level and the working level of the EU Commission, the EU Parliament and other stakeholders in Brussels and the EU member states in a broad variety of fields, such as energy and climate policy activities, trade policies and chemical legislation in Europe
- Anticipating and monitoring the EU regulatory framework relevant to WACKER’s business activities, e.g. renewable energy and electricity market design, emission trading and decarbonization policies, trade, chemical legislation and circular economy
- Creation, development and maintenance of fruitful relationships and a sustainable network with key officials in the relevant governmental bodies and with high-level decision makers
- Design and implementation of WACKER’s advocacy strategies for specific topics such as trade cases and WACKER’s general positioning and perception in the political environment
- Working in close collaboration with WACKER Governmental Relations representatives around the globe and national regulatory experts from other countries
- Representing WACKER in relevant associations and expert working groups e.g. CEFIC and Solar Power Europe
- Convincing others by both your expertise and diplomatic skills
Your profile:
- Degree in political science, communications, law, economics or any other related field
- Several years of working experience in a management role in corporate affairs, stakeholder engagement or public affairs, with a strong affinity to topics important for a chemical company like WACKER, e.g. energy, chemical legislation, trade cases
- Strong strategic and entrepreneurial thinking, good analytical skills
- Fast understanding of complex technical and chemical topics and translating them into messages suited for political stakeholders
- Confident and used to working in a global environment with diverse groups of stakeholders
- Skilled internal and external relationship builder with a reliable network of relevant stakeholders at EU and national level
- In-depth understanding of political processes and structures, both on national and European levels
- Distinct understanding of the technical and commercial contexts in the energy and chemical markets as well as in trade cases
- Fluent in German and English is a must; any further European language is beneficial
- Strong sense of integrity, responsibility, and reliability
- Willingness to travel on a European level
